{"id":853,"date":"2018-01-24T01:46:38","date_gmt":"2018-01-24T01:46:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.davidfinck.com\/blog\/?p=853"},"modified":"2018-11-24T19:35:06","modified_gmt":"2018-11-24T19:35:06","slug":"an-osage-orange-smoother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davidfinck.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/24\/an-osage-orange-smoother\/","title":{"rendered":"An Osage Orange Smoother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Garrick Green is plenty smooth, but he&#8217;s no &#8220;osage orange smoother&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"cn-image photo alignleft\" title=\"Photo of Garrick Green M.S.\" sizes=\"auto, 100vw\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mcpherson.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/connections-images\/garrick-green\/Garrick-Green-c7fe6bf2e397e1ed163ab9d6129dce19.jpg 1x\" alt=\"Photo of Garrick Green M.S.\" width=\"300\" height=\"420\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0 He did in fact make one though after driving the 1,054 mile from his home base in McPherson, KS to my studio in North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>At McPherson College, Garrick is an integral part of one of the most unique four-year college programs I&#8217;m aware of. He&#8217;s been the chair of the Auto Restoration Program for many years and and taught the metals and paint side of that craft. Lately he&#8217;s switching over to woodworking classes.
