Guitars

Although the bulk of my work is making violins and violas, I do take on guitar commissions from time to time. This one was built for a young classical guitarist entering entering a graduate program at a major conservatory. (I currently have a guitar available for sale very similar to this one. View here

The back and sides are ziricote; the top is Englemann spruce. The elevated neck is reinforced with twin carbon fiber rods. The sides are laminated:  ziricote inside and out sandwiching a layer of cross-grain spruce.  The Star of David sound-port was by request. Tonally this guitar has tremendous clarity across the register with singing trebles, lush, distinct basses, and serious projection. French polished shellac finish throughout
