Designed to suit a client's need for a dining table that would back against a sofa placed mid-room. For intimate dining, the outer leaf is raised; for larger affairs, the table is pulled out and both leaves put to use. Supporting legs tuck under the leaves, pivoting on shop-made wood and brass hinges. The table opens into a softened square with curved end panels and drawers following these lines.
