The sides of both cases and the lower doors are coopered into convex curves in solid ash. This means that the selected wood was sawn into staves, beveled, then rejoined and fared into smooth curves with round-bottomed and flat-bottomed handplanes. There are three adjustable shelves in the showcase and two in the lower cabinet, along with a pair of curved-front drawers.
