This piece was commissioned to fit a particular spot in the home a bit too shallow to accommodate a standard depth buffet.  In discussion, it evolved from an open stand to what you see here.  Traditional frame and panel construction throughout the case.  I sawed my own stout veneers on the bandsaw to create the doors.  This was done to create a harmonious pattern across the front and in no way lessens the quality of the piece -- bandsawn veneers are nearly 1/8" thick and very durable (not to mention a lot of work!)  Rails are double and triple mortised into the legs.  The drawers are made with handcut dovetail joints and precisely fitted to the drawer pockets by hand plane for a whisper fit.
